Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011. The funding is intended to help disadvantaged pupils ‘close the gap’, to raise attainment and improve progress.

Pupils who are eligible for this funding include:

  • Pupils who have been registered for Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the last six years.
  • Children who are looked after by the Local Authority
  • Children who have been adopted from care
  • Children of armed forces personnel.

At Florendine we are keen to ensure that additional funding is used effectively to narrow the gap between the performance of pupils within this identified group and that of their peers. We do this by providing intervention to ensure pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially.

  • Non-class based SENCO/Pupil Premium leader to monitor and track the progress of SEN and Pupil Premium children.
  • SENCO/Pupil Premium leader delivers one-to-one and small group intervention outside of the school day. (before and after school groups) Including; phonics, writing and maths support.
  • Individual interventions offered by the class teacher, following detailed learning conversations between the class teacher and Pupil Premium Leader (Mrs Hodgkinson)
  • Individual interventions for reading, writing and maths offered by class based Teaching Assistants.
  • Nurture group
  • Breakfast club provision
  • Afterschool sports provision
  • Outdoor education and school trips
  • Music tuition
